Offline POS in Fiji: keep selling when the internet doesn’t

Patchy connections shouldn’t stop your counter — or your compliance. The e-Business Offline POS trades through outages and fiscalises invoices locally, then syncs to the cloud and to FRCS when you’re back online.

FRCS-accredited (P184) Ask AI on every module No credit card Built in Fiji

Every Fiji retailer knows the moment: a queue at the counter and the connection drops. A cloud-only POS stops dead. The e-Business Offline POS is built for exactly this — it keeps ringing up sales and moving inventory with no internet at all, then syncs everything automatically when the connection returns. And with our E-SDC middleware, your invoices stay FRCS-compliant even while offline.

How it works

Full offline mode, automatic sync

The Offline POS installs on your counter device and holds its own local copy of products, prices and stock. When the internet drops, nothing changes at the counter: sales, refunds and stock movements continue exactly as before. When the connection returns, the POS syncs sales, stock and accounts back to your e-Business cloud workspace — no re-keying, no end-of-day spreadsheet.

  • Sales & inventory fully offline — the complete selling workflow, not a limited “emergency mode”.
  • Automatic sync — transactions queue locally and flow to the cloud ERP when you reconnect.
  • Standalone or connected — run it on its own, or attached to your cloud ERP so GL, debtors and stock stay current.
Compliance offline

FRCS-compliant receipts, even with no connection

Offline selling is only half the problem — under the VAT Monitoring System your invoices still need to be fiscalised. Our Electronic Sales Data Controller (E-SDC) middleware fiscalises and signs invoices locally on your device, queues them, and transmits to the FRCS VMS once you’re back online. Customers get compliant, QR-coded fiscal receipts whether you’re connected or not.

e-Business is an FRCS-accredited EFD/POS provider (P184, VSDC v3), so the whole chain — POS, fiscalisation, transmission — is built to the FRCS specification, not bolted together from parts.

Who it’s for

Built for cash businesses and patchy connections

  • Shops and market retailers outside the main centres, where connections come and go.
  • Cash-driven businesses that need a fast, simple counter first and accounting second.
  • Multi-location retailers who can’t afford one branch going dark in an outage.
  • Resorts, restaurants and wholesalers covered by the Retail, Hospitality and Wholesale accreditation modes.
Pricing

Simple, public pricing

The Offline POS device licence is FJ$240 per device per year, and the E-SDC fiscal subscription is FJ$66 per device per year. Connect them to any e-Business cloud plan (from FJ$49/month) for full ERP sync — accounting, inventory, payroll and Ask AI across your fiscalised sales data. Everything is listed on the pricing page.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can a POS really work with no internet in Fiji?
Yes. The e-Business Offline POS holds products, prices and stock locally on your counter device, so sales, refunds and inventory keep working with zero connectivity. Everything syncs to the cloud automatically when the connection returns.
Are offline sales still FRCS-compliant?
Yes. The E-SDC middleware fiscalises and digitally signs each invoice locally, queues it, and transmits to the FRCS VAT Monitoring System once you are back online — so customers receive compliant, QR-coded fiscal receipts even during an outage.
Do I need the full ERP to use the Offline POS?
No. It can run standalone for a simple counter-and-stock setup. Connecting it to an e-Business cloud plan adds automatic sync into accounting, debtors and multi-location inventory.
What does the Offline POS cost?
FJ$240 per device per year for the Offline POS licence, plus FJ$66 per device per year for the E-SDC fiscal subscription. Cloud plans start at FJ$49/month. All prices are public on the pricing page.
What hardware does it run on?
Standard Windows PCs and tablets commonly used at Fiji counters — no proprietary hardware lock-in. Receipt printers and cash drawers connect as normal.
Is e-Business accredited for this?
Yes — e-Business is an FRCS-accredited EFD/POS provider (accreditation P184, compatible with Virtual Sales Data Controller v3), covering Sale and Refund across Retail, Hospitality and Wholesale.
